This sumptuous, fresh, and downright delicious French "country wine" has a lot to like! From vineyards scattered throughout the Southern Rhone, it's a blend of Grenache, Caladoc (more on that later), and Syrah that drinks a lot like ripe and spicy Cotes du Rhone. For fans of wines from Piaugier and Amido, do yourself a favor, and get a six-pack!

Delicious White Burg from pedigreed vineyards for less than $20? Yep! How about as low as $12.99? Sign me up, and that's exactly what I did after tasting the 2021 R. Dutoit Old Vine Chardonnay. "Well Worth Seeking Out:" 2020 Grand Montmirail Gigondas Vieilles Vignes

The Cheron family, of Domaine du Grand Montmirail fame, make one of the great Gigondas values on the planet. I'm here to tell you their 2020 is in top form, and Grenache-led blend is plump, ripe, and generous. Jeb Dunnuck, who has a great Rhone palate, said it is "well worth seeking out." Wiser words have rarely been spoken :)

Stunning 95-96 Pointers from Ponzi Vineyards
Ponzi was instrumental in establishing Oregon's Willamette Valley as one of the premier viticultural zones in the world, and their latest releases are not to be missed. Now owned by the famed Champagne House of Bollinger, Luisa Ponzi has crafted two absolute stunners from the Laurelwood AVA, Oregon's newest appellation.

"Stunningly Good" Southern Rhone: 2020 Grands Bois Cairanne 'Cuvee Maximilien'
"It's stunningly good, and while already approachable and impossible to resist today, it's capable of evolving for a solid decade," says Jeb Dunnuck of Grand Bois' gorgeous 2020 Cuvee Maximilien. The village of Cairanne is north of Chateauneuf du Pape and just east of Gigondas and Vacqueyras, and Grands Bois is one the superstar producers of this village, which gained AOC status in 2016.
Josh's New House Red: 2021 Joan d'Anguera 'Les Maiols' Garnacha
Just a couple times per year, I encounter a wine that moves me, that inspires me, and that reenforces my wine enthusiasm deeply. Brothers Joan and Josep d'Anguera have produced just that, one of the prettiest and most riveting red wines I've had the pleasure to enjoy in 2023.

Our Favorite Dry Rose: Ioppa Nebbiolo Rose 'Rusin'

It's back, and it's another highly successful vintage of the Ioppa Rose of Nebbiolo. This "Team Table Wine" favorite has been on-point the past few vintages, and the 2022 is no exception. It is testament to the fact that Italy is home to some of the best dry roses in the galaxy :)

96 Point-Rated Syrah Blend: 2019 Marietta Cellars Christo Red Blend

96 points from one of the most trusted publications in the industry, less than $30, is it all that? I know that's the first question on everyone's mind, and I'm here to say YES. All I can say is back up the truck on this fabulous deal from this dynamic, certified organic, family-run estate.

One of New Zealand's Finest: 2022 Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc

For the 5th consecutive vintage, Allan Scott's outstanding Sauvignon Blanc has registered a 90+ point score from Wine Spectator. I doubt there are many other wines in this price range that can claim that same feat.

Beautiful, Bargain-Priced Bordeaux: 2020 Chateau de L'Orangerie Bordeaux Superieur
Wow was all I could say when I stuck my big nose inside the glass of the 2020 Chateau de L'Orangerie Bordeaux Superieur. One of the great red Bordeaux values I've had in a long time, this is a very complete wine at a very attractive price. Coming from an 8th generation, prideful, and family-run estate, this is one of those incredible finds we all dream about.

Elegant and Delicious Rose Champagne: Thierry Triolet Brut Rose
Triolet's wonderful Brut Rose combines two of my favorite wine categories into one bottle -- dry rose and Champagne! Yep, this small grower produces a fabulous, real-deal Champagne, and you can't beat the price.

Magical Muscadet: 2020 Gunther-Chereau Muscadet 'Anima Mea'
Veronique Gunther's Muscadets are all the rage in France and Western Europe, and for good reason. Her Anima Mea Muscadet is all about purity and precision, and this bone-dry white is ideal served next to oysters, mussels, and other creatures of the sea. We were one of the first East Coast retailers to feature this wine, and we're just as happy with the '20 as we were with the '19.

Sweet, Spicy, Supple, Sensational: 2019 La Vina de la Merce Rioja Crianza
There's a new Rioja in the house, we poured it at last week's Meet the Importer Tasting, and pretty much everyone loved it. El Vino Prodigo is the brainchild of Pedro Pecina Gil who grew up in the vineyards of Rioja. His La Vina de la Merce Rioja Crianza sees extended cask and bottle aging before release, and it is a SERIOUS wine at a great price.

Napa's Newest Cab All-Star: 2019 Royal Prince Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This is the RESERVE bottling from Royal Prince. Their regular Cab is great, but this is a much more substantial and formidable wine. Remember when I introduced you all to Venge Cab? This offer feels a lot like that, but I personally think the 2019 Reserve Cab from Royal Prince drinks more like one of Venge's higher-priced Cabs. I'm talking Bone Ash-type quality folks!

Soulful and Satisfying Tuscan Red: 2020 Pruneto Chianti Classico

Father and son Riccardo & Massimilliano Lanza are putting the CLASSIC back into Chianti Classico. Their tiny, 3.5 hectare, organic estate is located in Radda, some of the "holiest ground" in all of Tuscany, and their Chianti is noble in every way, shape, and form.

Lively Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc: Domaine Jean Teiller Menetou-Salon
Located just southwest of Sancerre, the commune of Menetou-Salon produces Sauvignon Blancs that have long rivaled those of their more popular neighbor. The version from Domaine Jean Teiller is a prime example of, and this small, certified organic, family-run estate has produced a spectacular bottle of Sauvignon Blanc in the high-quality/low-quantity 2021 vintage.

Lovely, Pretty, and Generous Italian White: Giovanni Almondo Arneis 'Vigne Sparse'
The Almondo Family estate is one of the reference-point properties of Italy's Piedmont region. While they make a fabulous Nebbiolo, their reputation has been built on the back of the Arneis grape, long considered one of the finest white varieties in all of Italy. This is truly a beautiful bottle of white wine, and it's ideal as we move through spring and get into summer.

Insane California Cab Value: 2019 Marietta Cellars Arme
The 2019 Marietta Arme, the estate's value-priced Cabernet Sauvignon-driven blend, is back and it's another stellar vintage for this wine. Rated 94 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and coming to you at a great price, this is a wine that out-scored a number of notable wines:

Superb Northern Rhone Syrah: Domaine Combier Crozes-Hermitage

If you want to experience the joys of Northern Rhone Syrah, Laurent Combier's Crozes-Hermitage is a great place to start. This is Syrah with wonderful purity of fruit and a delicacy rarely encountered in the grape. It will also immediately help you understand why France's Northern Rhone is famous for Syrah.

Luscious and Lovely California White: Curran Grenache Blanc
A serious contender for the best white wine value produced in the state, the Curran Grenache Blanc is dangerously drinkable. We are building a legion of Grenache Blanc Lovers at the shop. We recently sold through 30+ cases of the Herencia Altes Garntatxa Blanca, and we're coming back at you with another version from Santa Barbara County.
