Triolet's wonderful Brut Rose combines two of my favorite wine categories into one bottle -- dry rose and Champagne! Yep, this small grower produces a fabulous, real-deal Champagne, and you can't beat the price.

The Triolet family are one of the most respected growers-producers in the Cotes de Sezanne, about 20 miles southwest of Epernay. For many years, the family just grew grapes and sold them to the larger negociant houses to the north. In the 1970's, however, the family decided to start estate-bottling their own wines while supplementing their income by continuing to sell grapes.
I love all of their wines, but their rose has always been a personal favorite. Primarily Chardonnay (85%) with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in supporting roles, this is such an incredible value in true Champagne. The gorgeous color is the first thing that will enchant you, but once you get this in your glass, you're going to be even more captivated.
I honestly can't believe that many choose to spend their hard-earned dollars on bigger, branded Champagnes when they can get this, but to each their own. The appearance of this wine is a beautiful, vivid orange/pink, and this offers up a highly aromatic bouquet of fresh strawberry, cherry, rose oil, rhubarb, and buttery brioche. Finishing smooth and silky, that floral note lingers on the finish.
There you go folks, drink small grower bubbles, drink better, and save money! Team Table Wine fully endorses this wine, and we encourage you to enjoy it with tuna sashimi, grilled salmon, or a creamy goat cheese smeared on a baguette. Cheers and keep drinking the good stuff in the AVL!
