The 2022 Crossbarn Pinot Noir from Paul Hobbs is a beautiful expression of the cool, foggy Sonoma Coast. Ripe but not jammy, it shows warm cherry, pomegranate, and dried strawberry alongside sweet baking spices, forest floor, and crushed rose petals. Medium-bodied and succulent, with a silky texture and plenty of savory complexity, this is a Pinot Noir that is drinking beautifully right now.
Crossbarn is Paul Hobbs' more accessible label, but the winemaking is anything but an afterthought. Hobbs brings the same care to sourcing and winemaking here that he does to his more expensive offerings, resulting in a polished but expressive Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir that delivers plenty of character without the hefty price tag. A very good sip of wine.
