'Wallace' by Ben Glaetzer
Regular price $29.99The Glaetzer family first landed at Port Adelaide in Australia in 1888, and shortly after settled in the Barossa Valley. More than a century later, Colin Glaetzer established Glaetzer Wines with the intent of making high quality wines from the Barossa Valley. The winemaking is now handled by Colin's son, Ben.
The name 'Wallace' is a callback to an old family name of Judith, Colin Glaetzer's wife. A blend of 78% Shiraz and 22% Grenache, the goal here is to make a wine of power and intensity. It certainly does that! Plump, fruit forward, and bursting with dark berries of blueberry, blackberry, and plum. Full bodied with classic secondary and tertiary notes of star anise, cedar, and rosehip. Also holding just enough acid to add balance, this is a serious show of shiraz and grenache from the Barossa Valley and the Glaetzer family.
