Vincent Paris is a native of Cornas. He inherited most of his vines (some of which are 100 years old) from his grandfather and also rents vines from his uncle, the legendary Cornas vigneron Robert Michel. His Selection Syrah is comprised of younger vines located in Crozes-Hermitage, and it is a sensational and joyful bottle of wine to drink.
Deep, full-bodied, supple, and fine-grained, it offers up smoking notes of cassis, ripe blueberry, cracked pepper, smoked meat, violets, and more. Like all of Vincent's wines there's certainly power here, but there's a determined freshness about them too. Despite being fairly new on the scene, Vincent Paris is already among the upper echelon of Northern Rhone producers. Bravo!
