Vallana is one of the historic names of Alto Piemonte, with roots going back to 1787 and a modern estate founded in 1937. Long known for their traditionally styled Nebbiolo wines, their Barbera is the sleeper in the lineup and a great introduction to their classically delicious house style. Sourced from cooler, alpine-influenced vineyards in northern Piedmont, this is a fresher, more lifted expression that really shows off the clarity and energy of the region.

This is Barbera at its best, bright, juicy, and packed with character. Expect notes of red cherry, raspberry, plum, and spice, along with a subtle rocky edge that keeps things interesting.
