Punset Barbaresco Riserva 'Campo Quadro'

This strident traditionalist is based in Neive, and Marina Marcarino led the charge in Barbaresco towards organic and biodynamic farming. Today, Marina carefully and meticulously makes the wines from her family's vineyards with minimal intervention. Her wines are fairly new to the US, and we think they're going to take off in no time.

Marina's 2015 Campo Quadro is a study in Nebbiolo and all of its charms. The aroma of this wine is about as intoxicating and seductive as they come -- woodsy, spicy, amaro-ish, wild berry-fruited, and more. And the palate is pure Nebbiolo intensity -- for a wine that is 10 years old, this is still pulsing with energy and vitality. Elegant and complex flavors of forest berries, dark chocolate, brown spices, rose petals, and earth all make an appearance. Drink now through 2035, and yes, this will get better.
