Bordeaux-born winemaker and enologist Philippe Melka is one of the best in the biz, and his 2019 CJ Cabernet Sauvignon is clicking on all cylinders. Coming from Philippe's home estate in Saint Helena, the wonderful conditions of the 2019 vintage yielded a wine with style, class, and flair. It's not cheap, but we promise you it does not taste cheap either.
It pours a nearly opaque color and exudes contemplative aromas of cassis, raspberry, dark cherry, vanilla, mocha, and spice box. Just as compelling on the palate, it's full-bodied, but the tannins are ripe and fine-grained, making this a perfect candidate to drink now or over the next decade. 97 points, Josh Spurling.
