The tiny AOC of Jasnieres is one of the northern-most appellations of the Loire Valley. The Janvier estate is one of the finest, and the Chenins from Jasnieres bear a unique aromatic signature. Exotically perfumed and very different than the Chenins produced in Vouvray, Savennieres, and Anjou, we LOVE this wine.
The nose is incredibly exotic -- guava, musky peach, clove, and flint. Racy and honeyed yet bone dry on the palate, this wine is loaded with minerality and is an excellent representation of how Chenin reacts to the local conditions.
