Blaufrankisch is Austria's spiciest native variety, and Markowitsch does an incredible job with their version. A parent grape to Gamay and Zweigelt, this is super spicy and peppery, with lovely notes of dark raspberry, blackberry, and dark cherry. With medium body, medium-high tannins, and medium-high acidity, this loves hearty and rustic fare. Try it with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe!
