Les Vignerons d'Estezargues "Taparas" Cotes du Rhone Blanc is a rich, textured, and exotic Southern Rhone white made from Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Viognier. I love the combination of ripe peach, apricot, melon, and honeysuckle with the freshness that keeps this from ever feeling heavy. It's a full-bodied white with plenty of character and enough acidity to keep you coming back for another sip.
Les Vignerons d'Estezargues is a cooperative of small farmers that operates more like an artisanal winery than a traditional co-op. All members farm organically, yields are intentionally kept low, and the winemaking is firmly in the minimal-intervention camp. This is a seriously delicious white that I love with food, especially tandoori chicken, roast chicken, fall vegetables, or richer cheeses.
