Leo Hansen founded Leo Steen with a simple goal: to craft fresh, balanced, food-friendly wines that express both vineyard and place. His Gimelli Vineyard Chardonnay comes from a tiny, 245-case production sourced from a high-elevation site in the Gabilan Mountains, where rocky, limestone-rich soils and the cool marine influence of nearby Monterey Bay create ideal conditions for Chardonnay. The hand-harvested grapes receive a short period of skin contact before being fermented with indigenous yeasts in seasoned French oak puncheons, preserving both the purity of the fruit and the vineyard's distinctive character.

Bright, energetic, and beautifully layered, this Chardonnay offers enticing aromas and flavors of tangerine, white peach, lime, orange blossom, and crushed rock minerality.
