Le Fraghe is one of the top estates in the Bardolino DOC, located in between Lake Garda and Valpolicella, and their Chiaretto di Bardolino is their flagship wine. Matilde Poggi runs a tight ship -- certified organic, 100% hand-harvested, native yeast fermentations, all steps that require more effort but that lead to more compelling wines.
The Bardolino rosso is a blend of two classic grapes of the Veneto, Corvina and Rondinella. Fresh and juicy, this light bodied red also carries pretty notes of cherry and dark raspberry. Further notes of cinnamon and orange peel also present themselves alongside a compelling dusty character.
