The Hendry family have been farming the same vineyard since 1939. This under-the-radar, unpretentious, family-run estate has prime holdings just west of the town of Napa, and the Cabernet Sauvignon section of their vineyard is planted on thin, rocky, well-drained soils.
Their 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a masterpiece of a wine. Massively concentrated, super rich, and ready to drink, it showcases decadent notes of cassis, baked plum, dark cherry liqueur, bittersweet chocolate, violet, dusty herb, and more. A bottle of this, a couple of thick-cut ribeyes, and a good friend is all you need for a wonderful evening.
