The Gran Passione Rosso is a blend of Corvina and Merlot that comes the Veneto, in North-Eastern Italy. The fruit that goes into this full bodied red go through the 'appassimento' method which, similar to the process used for Amarone, involves drying the grapes and allowing them to shrivel in order to concentrate and amplify flavor.
The grapes here are intentionally picked when slightly overripe, so that they can present a much more decadent fruit profile. Look for black cherry, figs, blackberry pie, and notes like mocha and cola.
