Regular price $31.99The Almondo estate gets a lot of deserved attention for their Arneis' cuvees, but their Nebbiolo is in fine form this vintage. From organically farmed vineyards north of Barolo, the soils here change to primarily sand, and this factors into the overall style, aroma, and flavor of the wine. Sandy soils often yield wines with heavenly bouquets and palates, and that is certainly the case here.
The estate's Roero Rosso is 100% Nebbiolo, and it shows the more elegant and ethereal side of the variety. Ruby color, it is beautifully aromatic with notes of red fruits and flowers and grow and unfurl with time in the glass. High-toned and refreshing on the palate, it's not nearly as structured and tannic as Barolo or Barbaresco, making it a prime contender to drink NOW with or without food.
