Fontanavecchia Aglianico 'Grave Mora' Riserva

This rare and limited library release from Fontanavecchia really shows that Aglianico can "behave" a lot like Nebbiolo, it just costs a lot less. Produced from the estate's oldest and best vines with fruit hand-picked and brough into the cellars in small crates, it sees 18 months of aging in French oak.

The finished wine is a triumph, and trust us, this will continue to drink well for another 7 to 10 years. Rich and seductive, it offers up savory notes of dark fruit, smoked meat, savory spices, and espresso roast coffee. Full-bodied and still quite powerful, the tannin and acid have softened, and this is really in the zone. Gorgeous wine!
