The Thevenet family has been making terrific, honest Burgundy in the Mâconnais for generations, and this Mâcon-Villages is a wonderful example of why I love working with the Rosenthal portfolio. Made from 100% Chardonnay, this is classic southern Burgundy with plenty of personality and a terrific sense of value.
Fresh and lively, with notes of ripe pear, golden apple, citrus, and a touch of minerality. There's lovely texture here, balanced by bright acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. A terrific everyday white Burgundy that punches well above its weight. Roast chicken, seafood, or a simple cheese plate would be just the ticket.
