Domaine Larue's Sous Roche Dumay is a Premier Cru Chardonnay from a high-elevation site in Saint-Aubin, planted on the western side of the appellation at roughly 350 meters above sea level. The vines average around 50 years of age and are planted in soils composed of approximately 90% limestone with a small amount of clay. The site is fully exposed, and the combination of old vines, elevation, and predominantly limestone soils gives the wine an especially mineral-driven character and impressive structural depth.

More powerful and expansive than the Les Combes, Sous Roche Dumay shows ripe citrus, white flowers, flint, and subtle notes of butter and toast. The palate is broad and textured but carried by bright acidity, with a firm mineral backbone and a long, stony finish. There is plenty of depth here, but the wine remains focused and energetic, with the kind of structure and concentration that should reward a few years in the cellar.
