Bordering Sancerre to the southwest, the commune of Menetou-Salon has quietly been making some of the Loire Valley's top value Sauvignon Blancs for many years. Domaine Jean Teiller was one of the pioneering producers, and today the estate is run with abundant passion by Patricia Teiller (4th generation) and her husband Olivier. All of their vineyards have been certified organic since 2017, and the couple work with old vines and minimal intervention.
Their 2021 Menetou-Salon Blanc is the epitome of Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Crisp yet elegant and refined, it offers up wonderful notes of ripe citrus, peach, chalky mineral, flowers, and savory herb. Quite concentrated and full on the palate, this stays light on its feet due to its wonderful, balancing acids. Highly recommend by Team Table Wine!
