From famed Chateauneuf du Pape producer La Nerthe, their Cotes du Rhone is one of the best we've tasted this year. This is grand and righteous wine with a ton of flavor and character at a great price. A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, this punches way above its weight class.
'Dark and intensely colored, it comes across as airy and lacy in texture, while still showing ample concentration. A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from limestone and sand soils, it delivers notes of ripe cherries and mulberries, plus hints of roses, garrigue, orange zest and dried spices.
