Chateau Bourdieu is one of the benchmark estates of the Blaye-Cotes de Bordeaux appellation, perched above the Gironde Estuary on Bordeaux's Right Bank. Under the ownership of Luc Schweitzer since 1993, the estate has become a leading producer in the region, showcasing the potential of Blaye's clay- and limestone-rich soils through wines that consistently overdeliver for the price.
The No. 1 cuvee is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a touch of Malbec. Rich and expressive, it offers aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis, plum, vanilla, and baking spice. Full-bodied yet polished, it balances ripe fruit, supple tannins, and fresh acidity, delivering the depth and structure of a much more expensive Bordeaux.
