Chateau Aney Haut-Medoc
Regular price $31.99Here's a terrific find in pre-aged, Left Bank Bordeaux. Chateau Aney sits between the famed communes of Saint Julien and Margaux, and the estate has produced wines of class and elegance for generations, thanks to savvy vignerons and ideal conditions. The gravelly soils along with cooling breezes from the Garonne River are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon-driven wines, and this is exactly what you get here.
A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 7% Cab Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot aged for 12 months in French oak, it's in a really good place right now. "Nearly a decade old, it is in a sublime place today. While it is beautiful as soon as you pop the cork, it continues to improve after time in your glass, relaxing its chiseled frame and showing a more succulent and velvety side, evoking notes of blackcurrant, black cherries, and tobacco. Serve it with flank steak or a seared duck breast for a match made in Bordelais heaven." - Tom Wolf - Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant
