Named the 2015 "Man of the Year" by Decanter Magazine , Alvaro Palacios is one of the seminal figures in the Spanish wine. This prestigious title is awarded to people who have made an exceptional contribution to the universe of wine. Alvaro's work in Priorat helped establish the region as one of the best in all of Spain. 

While originally conceived of as a value wine, Les Terrasses has slowly evolved into Álvaro’s statement of what makes Priorat special. Drawing on 15+ years of study, Terrasses is sourced from many of the region’s steepest and oldest vineyards—many of them north-facing to avoid the intense afternoon sun. Today, Les Terrasses is today perhaps the single finest introduction to Priorat in the marketplace.

'The 2021 Les Terrasses from Alvaro Palacios is a ruby-colored powerhouse that celebrates the world class status of Priorat in one of the finest vintages to date. Les Terrasses was originally meant to be enjoyed on a budget but is now one of the most perfectly balanced examples of purity and vibrancy of this low alcohol red. This wine is a blend of 70% Garnacha and 30% Carinena, grown on the steep, north-facing slate-filled slopes of the region where the grapes were shielded from the harsh afternoon sun and allowed to ripen to their full depth of acidity. The nose is a bright, red-fruit tinged affair, with aromas of ripe raspberry, dark cherry, and a hint of dried sage. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and muscular, with rich, concentrated flavors of dark fruit, smoke, and spice. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, providing structure and grip well throughout the concentrated finish.  This wine can maintain its polish and elegance while evolving in the cellar, but it's also incredibly delicious to drink now.
