Over the past 15 years, he has worked in a variety of vineyards throughout California's Central Coast, and during this time, he has spotted some under-appreciated vineyards. About 10 years ago, he started Field Recordings as a way to feature these diamond-in-the-rough sites and parcels.
Fiction was his first creation, and we still think it's his best. A wild and crazy blend of 10 different grapes (21% Cinsault, 17% Lagrein, 16% Cabernet Franc, 13% Charbono, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Sangiovese, 6% Alicante Bouchet, 4% Zinfandel, 2% Grenache, and 2% Trousseau) from a handful of vineyards in Paso Robles, this shows forward notes of blackberry, plum, cherry, raspberry, and tobacco.
