Capitain-Gagnerot's Bourgogne is one the best Red Burgundy values we stock. From an old plot of Pinot Noir planted in 1945, this is no simple Bourgogne. Juicy and joyous, it pours a lovely ruby color and smells of cherry, red plum, forest floor, and Indian spices.
Even better on the palate, it is silky, seamless, and sensual. A pure-pleasure-wine, it is one that drinks well with food (roast chicken, pork tenderloin, salmon), but it also drinks well just by itself, sans food.
