The young Antoine Reniaume might be fairly new on the scene in Burgundy, but his wines do not "behave" that way. He makes a range of whites and reds from his 9 hectares of holdings in the Cote Chalonnaise, and his Bourgogne Rouge is a terrific introduction to Red Burgundy.
Produced fro 40-70 year-old vines and aged for 12 months in neutral oak, it is a fresh and spicy red wine that delights the palate with flavors of dark cherry, cranberry, spice, and juniper berry. It would make a great red to pair with poultry or steak au poivres.
