The Trentadue family got to Sonoma County long before anyone was calling it Wine Country. In 1959, Evelyn and Leo Trentadue left their apricot and cherry orchards in Sunnyvale as developers moved in, buying 208 acres in what was then the remote Alexander Valley. These Italian ranchers were determined to preserve their way of life, and that decision has paid off for generations.
Their Old Patch Red is primarily Zinfandel, with Petite Sirah and Carignane, and it's packed with black cherry, blueberry, cherry cola, ripe plum, vanilla, and cocoa. Fresh, juicy, full-bodied, and a little Rhône-like in character, this is a seriously tasty California red with plenty of fruit and depth.
