Te Mata Estate 'Awatea'

Regular price$59.99

Originally established as part of Te Mata Station in the mid-late 1800s, the modern iteration of Te Mata Estate began in 1974 when it was purchased by the Buck and Morris families. Since then, they have gained world renown as a producer of wine based in Hawke's Bay, located on the northern island of New Zealand.

Composed only of fruit coming from Te Mata's own vineyards, the 2021 'Awatea' is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. A powerful and fragrant example of what can come from Te Mata, the 'Awatea' exudes intense notes of dark fruits, cocoa powder, cedar, crushed rock, and nori.
