Sartarelli is one of the few Italian wineries which focuses exclusively on a single varietal production, in this case Verdicchio. Our winery and offices are built around our century-old country house at 350 meters above sea level. The Sartarelli winery, with its extension of 55 hectares of vineyards and 6 hectares of olive groves with 2,300 trees, is situated in Poggio San Marcello, a small precious gem surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of the Marche region. We are on the left of the Esino River, which is the traditional area where the wine D.O.C. Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico is produced.

Their Balciana is the estate's flagship wine, and it is produced with their oldest vines, and the grapes are picked late. Despite the late harvest, the wine is fermented dry, and it's an absolute joy ride of a drinking experience.

'The 2020 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Balciana is incredibly airy and fresh with a perfumed blend of dusty yellow flowers, confectionary peach and hints of cardamom. The balance of richness and sweet orchard fruits is compelling, to say the least, accelerated by zesty acids and honeyed inner florals toward the close that seal the deal. For all of its size and richness, the 2020 finishes tense, lightly structured, fresh and literally salty in nature. A beauty.' Vinous Media, 94 points.
