Domaine St. Damien’s cuvees of Gigondas have become the reference for classic full-bodied yet fine Gigondas, with scores by all journalists being both consistent and high every vintage. Almost as popular as their high-scoring Giogondas cuvees, are their Cotes-du-Rhone bottlings, for their intense concentration and tremendous value.
From a single vineyard, their La Bouveau Cotes du Rhone comes in as a blend of 80% Syrah, 15% Cinsault, and 5% Viognier. Deeply colored, nearly opaque, and offering up an incredible bouquet of dark berries, violet, earthy garrigue, and clove, this "Baby Cote Rotie" is in fine form this vintage. It's also a stupid-good value!
