Regular price $58.99The Rapuzzi family has deep ties to the Friulan region of northeastern Italy. They are the reason for the triumphant return of the native varietal Schioppettino, for which they received an award in 1976.
Coming from vines averaging 50 years old from the Cjastenet and Roncjs estate vineyards, the Ronchi di Cialla Schioppettino di Cialla showcases exactly why they needed to save the varietal. It sees aging in only 10% new french barrique with the remainder being second to fifth passage for a total of 30-36 months. Hauntingly aromatic, ethereal, delicate, and light bodied. The nose bursts with fruits of strawberry, cranberry, and pomegranate. Rose perfume, cracked pepper, rosemary, proscuitto, smoke, and a charred minerality are all present in this exceptional Italian red.
