Pollastrini Spicy Sardines

Pollastrini is a family-owned and operated cannery dedicated to sustainable fishing practices. They are the only Italian cannery of Mediterranean sardines. Based in the village of Anzio, on the coast of Lazio, Pollastrini is a unique and artisan operation. They still fish using the traditional Thyrennian gozzo small fishing vessel, and catch sardines at points in the season when their meat is richest. 

Made spicy by the addition of local sweet/hot peppers, all you need is a baguette, a good friend, and maybe a bottle of bone-dry Verdicchio to wash down.
