Maxime Magnon Corbieres Rouge 'La Demarrante'

Maxime Magnon is a reluctant leader of the natural wine scene. Born in Burgundy, he purchased some prime parcels of old old vines several years back, and he rents a cellar for his fermentations. He's a true garagiste who cultivates his vines with the utmost respect for nature and soil preservations. This means organic and biodynamic vineyard management, which he learned under the tutelage of Didier Barral and Jean Foillard.

Thankfully, Maxime adds a bit of sulfur to his wines, and that allows us to enjoy them in the US. His Demarrante Rouge is a blend of 50% Carignan, 30% Grenache,  and 20% Syrah, all from 50-60 year-old vines grown in sandy soils. It is both deliciously quaffable yet sophisticated all at the same time. Juicy, fragrant, and lush.
