Regular price $19.99Guerrieri-Rizzardi, the historic house in Veneto, dates back to the unification of two ancient estates in 1913, when Carlo Rizzardi from Valpolicella, married Guiseppina Guerrieri of Bardolino. Today, the estate makes a range of Veneto wines, and their single vineyard 'Ferra' Soave is seriously delicious.
This vineyard is positioned on the hillside beside the Castle of Soave. Rich in volcanic soil, the site benefits from it's south-facing exposure, which gets plenty of sunshine. Further, the position and higher elevation of this vineyard gets cooling breezes, which help to preserve the wine's natural acidity.
100% Garganega, Ferra is only made in the best years. Fermented in stainless steel, the wine sees 6 months of aging in oak foudres. Incredibly aromatic, with notes of jasmine, green herbs, mango, pear, and tropical fruits, this hits the palate with good verve and energy. Exotic, unique, and delicious, this is a fuller and headier style of Soave that many will love.
