The Russo family have been farming the vineyards of Mount Etna for many years. Today, the estate is run by founder Girolamo Russo's son Giuseppe, and it was under Giuseppe's overseeing that that they began to estate-bottle their wines. Giuseppe and his team farm 18 hectares of sea-influenced, high altitude vineyards.
Their 'Nerina' Etna Bianco is a fantastic, complex, and intense wine. It is made of 75% Carricante, with the last 35% made up of other indigenous varieties like Inzolia, Coda di Volpe, and Grecanico. Powerful and bright, look for lemons, passionfruit, underripe pear, and further savory flavors like ash, crushed stone, and chamomile. A very focused and textured Etna Bianco with great energy.
