The blend on 2021 Foppiano's 1896 is 48% Cabernet Franc, 20% Tempranillo, 14% Petite Sirah, 13% Teroldego, and 5% Malbec. It is an ode to the fact that this Italian family has been growing grapes in Sonoma County since 1896!
'Our 2021 blend starts with a wisp of savory herbs, mixed berry tart and baked pumpkin pie followed by an unmistakable burst of fruit salad: raspberry, blackberry, strawberry and honeydew melon. The wine continues with baking spice, rose petals and buttered toast with jam. The lingering finish tastes pleasantly of cranberry sauce and winter holiday spices.' - Winemaker Notes
