Finca Sophenia was founded in 1997 by Roberto Luka, who was formerly President of Wines of Argentina. Named after his partner´s daughter, Sophia and his own daughter, Eugenia, Finca Sophenia has earned its place amongst the top quality wine producers from Argentina.
The Altosur wines represent Sophenia's entry-level wines, and we find them to be some of the best values of their type in the market. So much cheap Argentinean Malbec is made a bit like processed cheese………in a factory in large batches with “less than natural” techniques. With plenty of ripe dark berries, plums, and just a kiss of oak, this full bodied and supple textured Malbec is perfect for every day consumption.
