Romain Guiberteau is making some of Saumur's most compelling whites, reds, and roses. Romaine trained with none other than Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard fame, and he follows in his mentor's footsteps. That means organic farming, native yeasts, all the good stuff that is responsible for making pure, savory, and elegant wines.
His rose is 100% Cabernet Franc, and it is bone-dry, racy, crisp, and lovely. Gorgeous notes of tart strawberry, green herbs, saline mineral, and a hint of bell pepper make this the perfect wine to enjoy with a summer caprese salad, spicy Thai food with a heavy basil influence, or some really good chevre.
