Gregoire Hoppenot is one of the hottest young producers in Beaujolais. He makes his wines in a very natural fashion, but in his own words, he wants to "make clean wine from organic grapes without any adulteration." He is succeeding, and his wines offer amazing texture combined with wonderful purity.
Hoppenot's monopole (he is the sole owner) Clos de l'Amandier is his rarest and most sought after bottling. It is a powerful and action-packed Fleurie laced with ripe dark fruits, floral notes, and complex minerality. This is the good stuff folks!
