Domaine des Ardoisieres Vin des Allobroges Blanc 'Cuvee Silice'

In the shadow of Mont Blanc sits the small estate of Domaine des Ardoisieres, one of the most exciting producers of Savoie and the world. Champagne native Brice Omont handles winemaking, and the domaine's 17 hectares are planted on steep, rocky slopes. Quite natural and minimal interventionist when it comes to winemaking, the estate is certified organic, fermented with native yeasts, and bottled with light filtration and minimal sulfur.

Their Cuvee Silice is 100% Jacquere and despite the fact that it only registers 11% ABV, it is both dry and quite expressive and textured. There's a stony minerality and crystalline purity to this wine that makes me think of Cru Muscadet meets Jura White. Think freshly squeezed juice running off a glacier :)
