The vineyards principally consist of Carignan grown on terroirs of schist, volcanic stone and mountainous limestone. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Syrah, Chenanson, Macabeu, Rolle and Chardonnay are also planted."-Louis/Dressner Selections
The Domaine de Majas Rouge is a 50/50 split of Carignan and Grenache coming from vines anywhere from 20-120yrs old, is 100% whole cluster, and is fermented and aged entirely in large concrete vats. Fresh, juicy, and bright with a strong Mediterranean character. Red cherry, tart blackberry, and pomegranate make up the fruit profile. Cracked pepper, spicy herb, and smoke are accompanied by an intense mineral in this brilliant Cotes Catalanes red wine.
