Chateau de Pizay Morgon comes from one of the most historic estates in Beaujolais, with roots dating back to the 11th century and prime vineyard holdings in the cru of Morgon. Over the years, they have built a strong reputation for producing some of the region’s most reliable and expressive wines, and the excellent 2023 vintage is a great example of that. Sourced from old-vine Gamay grown on granite-rich soils, this is crafted with a thoughtful, hands-off approach to let the character of the vineyard come through clearly.

In the glass, this shows a darker, more structured side of Beaujolais, with real depth and presence. Blackberry and ripe cherry lead the way, backed by notes of tea leaf, forest floor, and spice. It is fuller and a bit more powerful than many of its peers, with enough structure to handle the table but still plenty of fresh, pure fruit to keep it easy to enjoy.
