Chapelle des Bois Fleurie 'Grand Pre'

Located in the heart of the Fleurie cru, this small estate makes some of the finest Cru Beaujolais' on the planet. All of the work in the vineyards and the cellar is done in a minimal interventionist fashion -- spontaneous fermentation, traditional semi-carbonic fermentation in cement vats, and aging in large, older French casks.

From 40-year-old vines planted in the granite-heavy Grand Pré vineyard, the domaine’s flagship cuvée undergoes a cuvaison between 10 and 15 days, depending on the vintage’s underlying structural potential. The resulting wine is generally supple, round, and delicious in its youth, but it develops additional nuances in both bouquet and flavor with a few years of bottle age.
