Gabriele Buondonno has produced an absolutely rocking Sangiovese from the hot and dry 2021 vintage. Much plusher and softer than most Sangioveses, it strikes a wonderful balance between ripe and full flavors and refreshing brightness. Trust us, you want this on table when you're enjoying baked ziti, pizza, or Sunday gravy.
Buondonno's ancient property was once owned by Michelangelo, and since Gabriele purchased the property in 1988, all of the vineyard work has been certified organic. Their Rosso Toscana is 100% Sangiovese produced from old vines and fermented and aged in tank and cement. It's a wonderful and value-priced bottle of traditional Tuscan righteousness.
