Bodegas Filon 'Real' Garnacha

Produced from ancient vines grown on hillsides, this is a lot of Spanish Garnacha for the money. Most of the vines were planted in the 1920's, and the wine sees 6 months of aging in French oak. The resulting wine is exotically perfumed with notes of ripe berries, incense, and pepper. Smooth and seamless on the palate, offering sweet raspberry and floral pastille flavors that tighten up in the middle. Shows very good definition and fruity thrust on the subtle, long back end, leaving an echo of spiciness behind.”
