Started by all-star winemaker Larry Levin, Block Nine wines focuses on value-driven, North Coast (Napa, Sonoma, and Lake Counties) Cab that over-delivers in a big way. Larry previously made wines at Mt. Veeder, Quintessa, and Ravenswood, and while he won't share who's he's buying his grapes from, we're guessing he's buying excess fruit from some top producers.
His 2023 Cadien's Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is the proof of that, and this 92-pointer has got to be in contention for California's top Cab value. Wine Enthusiast loved it!
'This wine is supple, lively, with aromas of cherry, raspberry, dried herbs, vanilla cream, and notes of mulled spices on the nose. The flavors on the palate are strawberry-rhubarb, pomegranate, grapefruit zest, sprinkled with cinnamon, pink peppercorn, and a spiced dry finish. pair with filet mignon.' - 92 points, Wine Enthusiast.
