Bedrock Wine Co. Heritage Red Wine

Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson, son of Ravenswood founder Joel Peterson, and he has become one of California's great champions of old-vine vineyards. The Heritage Red comes from his own Bedrock Vineyard in Sonoma Valley, an extraordinary site planted in the 1850s. These ancient, dry-farmed vines produce tiny yields of intensely flavored fruit, and this is the wine Morgan considers the flagship expression of the vineyard.

It's a traditional old-vine Zinfandel blend with plenty of power, but what really sets it apart is the combination of ripe fruit and savory, earthy complexity. You'll find black fruits, bittersweet chocolate, Asian spices, orange zest, smoky herbs, toasted spice, and rocky, iron-like minerality. Big and concentrated, but with plenty of structure, this is a serious California red that can be enjoyed now or cellared for years.
