Nero di Troia is an ancient Mediterranean red grape of unknown origins now widely grown in Puglia, Italy. Nero typically has dark fruit flavors and aromas of violets and is often used in blends. Barbanera's monovarietal version is full bodied with velvety tannins and notes of cherry jam, blueberry, plum, exotic spice and violets. It doesn't need any food but would pair nicely with hearty red meat based dishes.
