Grattamacco was founded in 1977 and is located in the prestigious Bolgheri DOC. The estate sits atop a hill facing the sea between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri at 100 meters. The vineyards are steep and hilly and enjoy a dry climate with consistent warm temperatures at the end of the summer.
Their Bolgheri Rosso is a dark, dense, full-bodied, and powerful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese. Dark fruits of plum, blueberry, and blackcurrant come out along with lavendar oil, incense, sweet earth, Mediterranean herb, and tobacco in this great Bolgheri Rosso.
